Well been on washer for a awhile now and saw this thread pop up again so i figured on trying to cut the bolt off and put on a longer one.
Anyone thinking of cutting the bold this is not as easy as i thought the damm bolt was not a simple grind and it pops off what i did had to do is cut the head of the bold, then cut the threaded part and grind it until it was even. Once then was done i had to drill a hole in center to get make the hole. then when you are bending the L shape thing back make sure to get it at the perfect angle otherwise one side of you car will not be the same as the other. after all said and done i was very happy with the results and it beats paying for someone else to do it or buy more electronics for the car.
let me know what you guys think of how it looks.

4.5 yr old thread back on 1st page.. cool..
Just to Update. Im still running washers. I have 20's now so I ran a couple less washers. have about 1 finger gap on all four. No strut problems.
However There was a couple of instance which the warning message came on about Airmatic -visit workshop. Strut will stay on the HARD setting. The message go away after I park it for a couple hours. the strut also go back to soft setting. it happened in a really hot day. Maybe the sensors delayed to give initial reading and set off an alarm.
The visit workshop message have not pop up for more than 6 months now.
My brother and I both go to different MB indys. The Head Tech both said Airmatic replacements are rare. I'm much more comfortable with Airmatic than a ABC strut now. My Mechanic say ABC is more problematic. The Pump usually fails in cases he seen.

Car
w220 Lowering!
Super thanks to fkong777 on starting this thread and sharing your invention. I've been researching for about a month already, on how I will lower my car, and most of the post that I read from all different forums is to have the computer prorammed which is very costly and not practical, coz I buy an sell car, I change car in a fast time, and every car I have is a new project of modification and upgrades and once I'm done on it I sell it. I was about to buy the adjustable link already because so far I find that one more practical on price wise on lowering this vehicle, and last minute I found your thread when I google it, and this is a great invention. Super thanks! Great job!! Thanks for sharing this to everybody!

Gentlemen:
Although I to was going to do the washer drop, Thanks fkong
Eurocharged now has the MB STAR tool. I know this because it arrived while they were tuning my beast. It gave me the EXACT drop that I was looking for.
It was FAST, about 5 minutes, and they can put you wherever you want to go. So my question/answer is why NOT use it. Make friends with your MB dealer, or go see Eurocharged
Again, THANKS JERRY

If you have a good relationship and i mean good you can get this done. But most dealers will not lower the car for you. i have asked, begged and even bribed lol, they tell me it because a safty issue. but it also gets worse, trying to get a dealer to do the alingment, i only know of one dealer that will do it out of the 5 dealers near me.
Either way congrats on your luck, and yeah im jealous lol

There are some that really are tough nuts to crack.
Have you checked with your local tuners
I have to beleive that one of them have a STAR tool.
Oh well, best of luck to you, and I honestly was going to do the washer trick this weekend. I would not hesitate to do it in a heartbeat.
