Anyone *****ing about how bad the S-Class is; At least you're not in a Bentley
Never ever ever ever ever. Never in my life. No way no sir no how. No VAG product that's not "budget". Not Audi, not Bentley, not Bugatti, not Lamborghini. Germans already have a tendency to move the earth for the tiniest improvement. "Sir we can achieve 5% better results if we use the latest physics from CERN and build the most complicated device ever seen by mankind: the part needs to be made only during the alignment of the planets, and we'll have to re-engineer everything from what's standard, but insodoing we will achieve a 5% better windshield washer fluid efficiency". "HANS WHY DID YOU WASTE MY TIME, OF COURSE YOU MUST GET TO WORK ON THIS IMMEDIATELY!"
Anyway, the above is the standard approach to things in Germany. Now in comes Audi, who in their very own motto pride themselves on how much they can overcomplicate things: "Vorsprung durch Technik". Roughly translated: "Complicated is not complicated enough".
Now finally couple this with a company who's DNA is building things that are cheap/affordable.
Anyway, so as you struggle to chase down what you think is the most overcomplicated thing ever devised on a car, take solace in the fact that you don't have a Bentley.
