resetting the service reminder
hi, 01 s500...service B reminder....
how can i , if possible, reset it? is it via factory/stealer computer only or is it a software driven reset?

Hi jjrho!
A/B Service counter reset on your vehicle is relatively easy (I've done it on mine already) and does not require MB stealership visit.
Switch your display to the screen when its says how many miles until service (A/B - doesn't matter). Once you are there, press and hold R button for 3-5 seconds on the right bottom of your IC (Instrument Cluster).

x50 / detector location
thanks. that's a real easy one....
i change the oil q5K miles myself with M1 and dont' follow the car's recommmendations so...
anyway, got a x50 just now too... fine on all my other cars but on our S class,
isn't there some issue with the location of the detector on the shield for optimum performance? that there is some type of a metallic coating on the window that keeps the RF energy from coming through?
like my fasttrak transponder doesn't work unless i put it up on the sunroof....
any info?
