This particular car came with a 6-disc DVD changer which can handle DVD Video and DVD-ROM disks and will play Region 2 DVDs at speeds up to 5 km/h. It has built in support for Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS audio decoding and the H/K 600w sound system supports full surround sound processing.

You can also store MP3 files (up to 384k) on CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or via the PCMCIA slot that's just under the DVD changer in the dash. You can load up to 4000 MP3 files onto one storage media. I have a 1gb IBM Microdrive (Compact Flash) inserted into the PCMCIA slot via an adapter and it works great. You can also organize MP3 files into folders and then browse your collection via the COMAND display.

Jimmyg, thanks for answering my question.
Can the mirrors be programed to fold in when the car is turned off. I know that can help save you from alot of scratches. Also can the key open the windows and sunroof by holding down the unlock button on the key?
I can't wait until the car makes it here in the states!

I think it only works for MP3 files, but I can verify that a DTS 5.1 encoded DVD movie looks and sounds great!

You can program the car to automatically fold the side view mirrors when locking the car. Opening and closing the windows using the key works similar to the way it does on my G55, so I don't think there is anything new there.

One neat new feature is that not only can you open the trunk using a button on the driver's door (just below the window and rear window shade controls), but you can also hold the button down to close the trunk from inside. For safety, there is a sensor which detects if a person or anything else is in the way to prevent someone from being hurt accidentally.

That's a great car, can't wait to see them on the road over here.

I just wanted to mention that looks like a lot of construction, I don't think I've ever seen so many big buildings going up next to each other at the same time.

Sorry everyone that I haven't been answering your questions. I've been traveling for the past few days and will be away from the car for another five days before I'll be able to post more pictures and details. Tomorrow I have a few hours with nothing to do in the hotel so I'll try and answer as many questions as I can. I don't mind doing it, you should see how annoying I am with all my questions on the Aston Martin forums waiting for my new V8 Vantage.

that is one sweet machine...however, i have to admit those fender bulges look like they are borrowed from the 300c. I would take one if i could afford it.

None as of date
For the umpteenth time, but nevertheless, great car jimmyg . By the SatNav, or rather, 'Navi' :p screen , you seem to reside in Jumeirah. About that Vantage you're waiting on, are you ordering it from Al Habtoor or getting it imported? The only AM V8 I've seen so far is a black one with Dubai plate D 66945 near Al Awir and I think that's the test car. Anyways, congrats again on the S-Klasse. About that PCMCIA slot you were talking about, can you hook up a portable hard drive it via USB 2.0 on that adapter you've got...'cos that would be .

Very nice car. Do you have the IR driving lights and could you take a photo of the dash screen with them on? Thanks.

Thanks bro. I ordered my Aston Martin from Al Habtoor Motors in August. I was originally supposed to get it in early November, but now they will not start building my car until December 13th. Because of the delays, I managed to get them to agree to airfreight the car saving 4-5 weeks and cover half the extra cost. So for an extra Dhs. 4,000 to me they'll be flying it on Emirates...which is cheaper than an economy class ticket to London and less than 1% of the purchase price.

Only sad part is that I have to sell my G-wagen to pay for the Vantage...but then hopefully business will be good over the next two years and I'll buy G63 AMG with the new interior that's due for the 2007 model year.
