I've seen several new S-class benzes in Tokyo of late, even in my neighborhood. Here they are all S500s. I saw a really nice looking one just yesterday with the AMG package. I'm not sure about the official release, but I'm surprised to see so many new S classes before they are meant to hit the market in the states. Then of course Tokyo does have a lot of really rich people who can just import them at extortion prices.

Just saw the car going down sheridan road here in Winthrop Harbor Illinois. The guy lives right by me but I dont go past enough to notice. Its an all black one and he was heading south I am guessing to Knauz.

BklynBenz, I saw that exact car (MFR plates, same state) at the Thomas Edison rest area on the NJ Turnpike this afternoon(between 11 and 12 on the southbound side). He parked right next to me. Young guy driving it

I wish I had brought my camera with me

Actually it had Illinois plates and the MFR logo, but I think it was black. Was the car you saw at MB of Manhattan black or maroon? It is hard to tell from the pics.

Yes, it is interesting because I have gone back to the very early 221 introductions. To go back in history like this and slowly inch forward is very interesting.
