Test Drive

I was driving past my dealer and what do I see, the S550 black on black so I pull up and they were kind enough to let me test drive this car - just around their lot. Sorry I didn't have my camera with me but from what I saw and touched, this is the best car in it's class ever. The seats were very very suportive and comfortable beyond any car made (well, I dont know about the Bentleys and stuff), the controls appear to be user friendly, the stearing feels really good to the touch and not to mention the power. These guys didn't let me just really push it hard but it's got some serious muscle under that hood.

Window controls are easy to reach and the leather wrapped dash looks really good. The overall car was a little longer and wider parked next to mine. I didn't get a chance to test the night vision since, well you know, it's daytime. The night vision camera is actually tucked out of sight by the tele-aid mic. The rear view camera looks good on the screen and the 6 cd changer on the dash is a well needed change. What appears to be the Idrive is really not. It's just the radio controls at a convenient location. There's also additional brake lights when the trunk is open (don't know why but it doesn't matter. It looks good.)

Cup holders are conveniently placed and eliminates the accidental elbow bump and spill - I know it's not just me. Forget that MB accident trying to demonstrate the Distronic plus adaptive cruise. That thing works.

The only thing I didn't like is the fact that I couldn't bring that car home with me. Bottom line (at least from my perspective) this is the best car period. You can't say enough until you get in one and drive it. Get your check book ready.

It's funny how some of the little things are impressive. The two little things for me was that the driver can move the passanger seat and there is a SD media card slot above the ashtray.

May be a stupid question, but what would an SD card be used for? Sorry but I'm not to with it tech wise.

We could put mp3 files on it and play them through the Logic 7 DVD-A 5.1 sound system.
