Indeed. I don't usually pop down to the dealer. I order all my parts online, and perform the servicing myself. I will definitely have to make a trip in this case.

S Class Styling

The W221 has yet to be launched in the UK so we are having to make do with pictures of the car rather than see it for real. From reading this and other MB dedicated forums the consensus seems to be that the new car`s styling does not immediately impress but subsequently begins to and when seen in the flesh is a whole lot better than expected.

To some extent I think that the whole issue of S Class styling is driven by the overall size of the cars in question and big doesn`t necessarily lend itself to beautiful. In truth with the exception of the W126 no S Class badged car has been truly beautiful but beauty in itself is NOT the point about S Class cars.

The S Class, any S Class is an exercise in state of the art automotive technology delivered in an environment of spacious comfortable luxury encased in a bodyshell that demands respect. The S Class is about road presence.

From what I have seen the W221 looks like a return to this kind of form after the wilderness years of the W220.

As to the quality and reliability of the external and internal materials used in the car and the efficiency of electronic and chip driven sytems DC know that this car is a make or break model for them. Given the damage to the marque`s reputation they just cannot afford to get it wrong. Sure, there will be teething issues but unless they address these quickly the slippery incline they are already on will get a great deal steeper...... is that the new LS460 I see over there?!

I can say that I wasnt a big fan of the styling in pics either, however in person I like it. I would like to see the tailights, with the silver stripes color matched red (they appear "bi-sected" with the stripes)

Just ignore this idiot ( phonetics ). Do a search on his posts and you will see that he has been very consistant in his attitude.....a big stuck up d*** head making arrogant statements.

( This post was referring to 'phonetics's latest idiotical remark )

It has more cool factor than the previous S, although the 1999-2006 model was one of my favorite all around benzes ever.

On the road driving it looks small...even though it is apparently bigger than before...I saw one today.

I think the next CL will be much more aggresive, even though the spyshots are bland.

What are u talking about... Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion... And who are you to judge someones wealth by what car he drives? he might have a ton of money AND can afford the car, but instead wants to invest it into something that will make him more money..... Making a statement like yours doesn't make you look good....

Exactly. I know a person that is incredibly rich, and drives a Honda Accord. To me, that is the truest expression of wealth. You already know you are rich, so why flaunt it?

I think you can be rich and live the lifestyle you want, however dont be snobby about it. That is where the fine line is drawn. If we are going to judge people by the kinds of cars they drive, houses they live in, or how they dress then we are being prejudicial in our judgement and thought.

Yes, I too have significantly more money than I could dream of or need in my lifetime and could ver well retire right now, however, I am not a snob about it and nor do I look down on others who are not as fortunate as I am.

Im sorry but I disagree with the member who said that C class owners opinions are not welcome.
