I also heard Fall 2006 is when the S550 4Matic will be available. Hopefully all the options will be available by then. When will they make a AMG 4Matic?

Yup, Fall 2006 is when the S550 will be available with 4Matic and 7Spd transmission.

No need for such a heavy system in a performance car. Sure Lambo's and Audi's have them but IMO a true performance car does not need it. Besides just adds heft and prevents me from burning the rubber I like doing so much in the CLS.

In cali there is definitely no need... we north-easteners have to worry about somethingcalled winter lol. I guess we like our amg's so much, we want to drive them all the time instead of a big ugly suv...dunno why that would ever be the case
