Saw my first S550 today on the road...

in West Palm Beach on Okeechobee Road. Car was white with tan leather and was being driven by a gentlemen in his 70's with his wife riding shotgun. Car had a New York tag. This is the first '07 I have seen on the streets here and woudn't you know it had to be from New York. I guess he just took delivery on it and decided to take the "Winter Trip" down I-95 to shake it out. Car looked very sharp. MB did a great job with the re-style...especially the rear...much smoother than Bangle did with the BMW 745/750. The pics don't do it justice. I think the new look is close enough to the W220 not to throw W220 owners under the bus styling wise. IMHO.

I'm waiting for the moment when I can say I've seen one on the road, haven't yet.

I’ve seen them driving on the street both from the front and back. I agree the car looks better in person than in pictures. The trunk and wheel arches no longer bother me, although they still could have done a better job with the headlights. I’m still not bowled over by the interior, which I’ve examined close up at the dealer’s.

If anyone is in the Palm Springs area there are quite a few new W221 driving around. Mercedes Benz is a host sponsor and therefore are the official car for the professional tennis tournament going on now. I agree with SillyDriver, the car looks alot better in person. I've driven next to, behind and in front of a pewter, black and silver.

I agree. In January just about every color combination rode through Scottsdale for some promotion or other and each one looked fabulous in motion.
