S350 Cdi
Keeping my fingers crossed for a S320 cdi (swb) 4-matic.
I think Mercedes is so back logged for the new S class,
they could not build a diesel fast enough to keep up. I would
guess 2008 at the earliest.
By the way a W221 swb compared to a W220 swb should have
about 3.5/4 inches more rear seat leg room. Now if they would
add optional ABC to the swb, awesome.

The car company that gets a big reliable deisel fleet into the US the fastest is going to be a BIG winner. This gentlemen is what is known as a "Paradigm Shift"
Dealer also says that due to upcoming diesel fuel changes, not many manufacturer's will be building diesels, at least for California.
I didn't do any research, but I think the only diesel passenger vehicle we can currently buy is a Volkswagen...
I want access to a S420 or whatever it is that has the V8 diesel engine. I would then go with Renntech, Kleemann, or Brabus and get an ECU tuned to get more power out of that puppy. I would gladly give up my mom's S550 for one of those puppies.
Also, the current V8 Diesel is and older engine and not up to U.S. regs. It would take a new V8 or they'd have to seriously ($$$) update the current one to sell it here and it wouldn't make sense with such a limited amount of sales.
