Missing Button

Wanted to see how many people out there have an actual button for their rear window shade? The manual shows the button to be amongst the many on the overhead console, however in my car it's just a blank spot. Isn't that odd? The only way to otherwise access the shade without having to go through COMAND is to program the "favorite" button as the shade, but it strikes me as bizzare that I don't have a dedicated button! Anyone else???

I don't think anyone has a dedicated button for the rear sunshade.
The missing buttong you're referring to is probably the one that controls the shade of the rear panoramic sunroof.

exactly...i initially had the same confusion...the overhead button is for the shade for the panoramic roof. The rear windscreen blind can be operated by the favorite button if the blind function is alloted to it. The alternative is to operate it through the command interface.

By the way, something I noticed when you have the pano roof option is that you lose the one-touch closing of the sunroof and sunroof shades. I don't know why they did that.

Whats the command like to use? I saw clarkson trying to use the one on the 220 and saying it was a pain, and I saw them using the iDrive on the M6 which also looked hard. I think I would rather have a button.

Whew, glad I'm not alone! Seems strange that they don't make a button for the shade, but at least setting the favorite key is quite easy. Overall, I find COMAND to be quite intuitive and very simple to use.

Well thats the thing I have not tried to use one. I notice that with the BMW you can use it to change all the sports settings and the like, but to have to use it to work the rear blind and other things well...... . But then some cars just have too many buttons.
