DVD Audio

Hey everyone! I've been rather busy lately so I haven't been able to really drop by the forums lately. I just wanted to say that I purchased the DVD-Audio versions of Hotel California and Frampton Comes Alive. After listening to the surround sound mixes I would have to say that these are must haves. The sound quality is just incredible. Hotel California in particular makes great use of the surround sound and sounds almost like a different, yet much better version. Anyway, I did want to ask wether or not the sound system will play Super Audio CDs? Once again I urge you all to purchase a DVD-Audio album as they are an exhilirating musical experience. Do You Feel Like We Do also is simply amazing, lightyears ahead of the original mix.

Thanks,

Tony

No, the system does not support SACD playback. However, the system will also play DTS music discs. These are 5.1 surround music discs that were pre-cursors to the DVD-A and SACD formats. You can see a catalog of available titles here:

http://www.dtsonline.com/entertainme...ogue/music.php

Notice that some are listed as DVD-Audio while some are listed as "5.1 Music Disc". It's these latter discs that I am talking about. I've had several of those for years and they sound great. There are more DVD-Audio titles than the ones listed there. That page is on the DTS website and therefore only lists DVD-Audio titles that use DTS.

Thank you Jeff. The web site that you posted provides a wider array of choices for me than I had previously been aware of for the format. I probably will be ordering some of those; i'm sure that the 5.1 music discs do sound great as they are in 5.1.

Thanks

Tony

No problem. Here's another link as Tower Records appears to have a nice selection of DVD-Audio titles:
