That doesnt make sense because the only reason that bumper would be available should be in the event a 65 CAR was damaged and needed replacement parts.
It is probably a launched early edition for the show - exactly like the Bond films got early editions of Aston Martins and BMWs. The Z8 BMW in Tomorrow never dies was before ppl could actually buy that car.
I believe the same went for the Aston Martin Vanquish in The world is not enough movie.

I do not think you can order the S550 with the 65 Bumper. At least not here. You can order with teh sports package.
Maybe the producer just WANTED the S65. hehe. who knows.

seems to be an S65, and btw, u def can order anything on your car. having ordered an 06 G55 with bi-xenons and with unlimited speed from AMG, and knowing a few people who have ordered crazy stuff, trust me, if you know who to talk to, and have the money, u can do it. (a recent example, four guys who own 3 CLS55s and an E55, paid the service center supervisor money to take their control units from their engines to someone in AMG to reprogram them. each car's power increased by at least 40 hp - yielded power above 500 hp- something to do with having the valve that injects air in the engine open for a longer time, long enough to yield more power but still have the car function safely. the manager test drove all cars and tells me that the one E55 was the craziest AMG he has driven ever).

You are right. And your article proves its a real S65.
Aside from that - I imagine the S65 bumper would be at least $5000..... i know regular bumpers are like $3000 (including paint, installation and parts)
If anything, shouldnt the customer then buy the side skirts and rear apron to get teh full effect? And THEN..... if they were gonna shell out all that money - shouldnt they just get the S65 he he

and yeah not only the bumper defnitely, its a package, for eg. what the sport package is called in the US, is the AMG package here, the whole deal, not just the bumper.

Maybe want to put a chip in it to get more performance as well...
The thing is.... the S550 goes from 0-60 in 5.2? the S65 goes to 60 in 4.4? $80K for .8 second to 60...... I guess top speed or passing speed is what counts?

The Vanquish they beat up was probably fake in some shots...I guarantee they used a real one for other important shots.
The F355 in "The Rock" was a replica with sound over and many Diablos have been fakes. The Kitcar business is growing in size. I saw a Diablo Conv. built on a Fiero chasis with exact dimensions, interior, engine cover, etc. that would fool 99% of all this forum from 5 feet a away with engine off here in LA......crazy huh?
The ability to get a S65 bumper before the car itself was introduced is hard to believe, however they always hide the badges on the exterior. I am almost sure the insides had AMG seat badges though.
I think it is real and Mercedes wanted it on the show. Its funny how they gave those kids the Maserati until the lease expired...imagine living with that potential liability. Bad writing IMO.

i honestly think they were all real cars... not fake ones...
i mean the vanquish was an aston martin
the s class was a benz... (the issue was whether the engine was a 6.5 twin turbo or not, having a the amg body doesnt mean it was aftermarketed etc.)
dealers would love to have their cars on shows... i think so anyway... especially a show that can be a huge window for marketing such as entourage.

The real Vanquish was not quite ready in time as I understand it.

I'm almost sure thatit's a S65. I remember seeing the exhaust tips in one episode & could have sworn i saw the V12 Biturbo badge on the side in another. Also, in another episode they showed James Woods in an SL65.

It was absolutely not a proper Vanquish and TG did indeed do a big spread on it. I'm sure reports can be found online.
