From what I've seen there I can judge that it's really easy! NevadaJack, can you handle it while driving?

I wonder what the iDrive is like. Maybe a bit more difficult than the COMAND.

COMAND is very easy to use and understand...just like the tutorial shows. And yes you can use if while driving. I use the Voice control most times while driving so as to not have to get myself involved with something that requires a lot of eye contact with the screen. With the button options, the Voice control and dash as well as screen displays, COMAND is a great feature.

I have no experience with iDrive so really cannot comment...I have read that COMAND is more intuitive and much easier to master and use.

We should look out for an iDrive tutorial to compare...

Now that I've seen the new COMAND, I really don't understand why so many automotive journalists complain about it. (Especially in Germany...they're so deadlocked!)

I was reading the manual that you provided about the S-class and it says in the manual that a certain speed some features of the Navi are not avialable. Can you please tell what speed that is?

Input Restrictions

The input restrictions are imposed starting at a particular vehicle speed. The restrictions are canceled as soon as the speed drops below a certain value.

When the restriction is active, certain operations or entries are not possible.

You will notice this by the fact that some menu items cannot be selected or certain operations will not be possible.

Taking a wild guess I would say 30mph because of page 140 in the PDF manual. I got the input restriction on page 146 of the manual
