Here is the US, the RSE system might be an available option for the 2008 model year. We won't know for sure until we get much closer though.

MB E350CGI T (S212 Estate)
According to my dealer (I'll get mine in October this year, new production line starts September), there will be several changes in Europe - I guess they will be the same for the US, too.

E.g.:
- artificial leather on doors (shouldn't be different to look at, but stays longer like new on this often touched part)
- different color on buttons ?
- PreSafe breaks (start breaking automatically if an accident is imminent)
- PreSafe headrests (no idea what changes, but seems like the headrests get a new PreSafe feature)
- new "Sport" mode (gear and suspension settings), not available for the S320 CDI
- multicontour seats with one air chamber less (removed front under knees)

All this info was given to me verbally from my dealer - no guarantee that I got everything right.
Overall no major change. But I like the two new PreSafe features.

Anybody got more info on that?

I doubt if we'll see any real changes other than the minor stuff listed in the above post. For model year 2008 in the U.S. they'll likely finish the roll out of new models like that elusive S450 and the S63 AMG and S320 Bluetec or CDI. I'm suprised that "Stone" isn't an optional color for the interior. The facelift won't come until the 2010 model year.

In Europe we already have the new MY (we call it 07 because the 06 came out last fall, the new CL is already an 07, like the US model).
The RSE only comes with active / PreSafe headrests, those headrests are like little computers and they can "wrap around" your head and pop up to prevent you from a trauma in case of a crash. The PreSafe brake is already available over here.

they are thinking of a facelift already? What could be done to the car to "facelift" it.... sort of like saying "Paris Hilton is in need of a face lift...."

Well yes and no. Mercedes nor anyone else has said anything about a facelift, but in model year #4 it will happen just like it does on any other Benz. That means the 2007, 2008, and 2009 models will be like what you see today, but come 2010 there will be some changes. On the sedans MB does the facelift either for the 4th or 5th model year. The previous S was the same from 2000-2002, 3 model years and then for 2003 the facelift. The current W211 E-Class is visually the same from 2003-2006 and now for 2007 we have the facelift. The current C went from 2001-2004 with no real changes and the for 2005 a facelift and unusually for 2006 new engines. The engines should have come for 2005 IMO, but you see my point. The only engine changes I can see for the S would be a new V12 and direct injection for the V8s and possibly a turbocharged 571hp S63 AMG to replace the upcoming 525hp naturally aspirated S63 we'll see in Paris next month.
