I put my S550 in for service regarding the intial startup smoke that comes out of the exhaust. My worry was not the smoke, but the very large quantity of it. I described it as if a 18 wheeler's exhaust pipes pumped out diesel smoke at startup.

They tested the sensors and "hooked up the car onto the computers", and found nothing unusual. Everything was normal. All 4 exhaust sensors were working fine. No oil or any fluid leakage. They said the smoke is normal during condensation, but they found it odd on the quantity I was talking about. They had no actual thresholds to determine what amount of smoke is normal.

I had no other issues. But I'm going to keep a disposable camera in the car, and the next time it happens, I'll run out and snap a picture.

on the way home from the dealer, last night, it poured on I-95. I was doing 90-95mph, smooth as a whistle. The car and its tires just pushed all that water on the road aside. No feeling of hydroplaning at all, considering the amount of rain.

yeh, the new disposable digital camera's that can be found in Walgreens or drugstore.

what? just saying it would be helpful to have a digital rather than a disposable since a) quality is light-years better; b) disposables take time to develop; c) you're driving an S550 - you should be able to swing a digital!
