wasted money
As it turns out the dealer did not inform me correctly on which options i needed when buying a rear seat entertainment system! I need the the sound system option which i dont have. apparently you cant fit the car with it according to the hk service center and plugging in the rear dvd into the command aux gives volume which is too low so its useless. i would appreciate any out of the box ideas?

use an fm transmittor, they are like 10/15$ at best buy, all you do is turn to the channel, might get some static but its decent.

the rear seat entertainment system was factory installed and works fine with headphones. You need option code 810 for it to play through the speakers which we only found out after buying the car. according to the service center in hk there is now way to add the speaker system which is 810.

Anything is possible and I would expect that the conversion is not much more work than it would be in a E-Class.
It will however cost a little more than factory to do the sound conversion. I dont know if I believe that it is necessary. After looking on the Australian ordering sheet there is no stipulation that 810 must be installed for code 864.

1. the amp in theory should work but i would have no clue where to start on that if the dealer cant help me.
2. this is the whole problem I was never informed anywhere that code 810 is needed however then manual states that a "sound system" is needed, which later the Hong Kong center said is code 810. I dont understand why a car company would not mention this and sell a system which would not play through car speakers, it all makes no sense to me.

There is no official 810 requirement and if there is it can be installed !
Either way there is a solution.

Hmm i think your right.. but i also said this to the HK center they said the salesmen is meant to inform you, maybe he jsut said that for fun. Would you agree it seems as though they are learning along with each problem as the car is totally new to most of the service guys. according to benz here i have no way of getting the sound working.

i know this is an old topic. but i sent my car to the dealer to change the command screen. When i got the car back under the audio section there is no an option for rear.
The downside is no sound plays through the car speakers when it is selected and the rear dvd is on.
i feel like im 50% there.. or is this false hope?
