Distronic Plus
#2
In Australia, the distronic short range radar interfers with police radar, and therefore, it is not an available option, only the regular long range distronic, which can't completely stop the car. As far as I know, there have not been any significant reports of radar interference. The only case of any malfunctioning that I have heardis of the one a few months ago when a tv show tested the system anf crashed. There have been several explainations floating around, such as interference from the metallic construction of the studio, to the driver not turning distronic on, etc.

Have it on my new S550. Owner manual says it can't be used in Canada. Feature works great, brings the car to a complete stop very quickly. Only issue is that it allows a little too much space between you and the car in front, so others can cut in if they're really aggressive.

Really? I didn't see that in the manual (I live in Canada BTW), is it in the Distronic Plus section? It's a valid option in Canada; therefore, I assume that some cars have this option. Maybe it's simply not recommended.

Well interfering with cop radars is always great more like a jamming system lol
, but interfering with your own radar would be a big problem.
I am not sure how distronic will affect passive detectors, they should not .
