A random question, but for other w221 owners does the flap for the telephone keypad open towards the driver or away from the driver? mine opens towards the driver blocking site of the key pad this means on a right hand drive the flap opens to the right. is this right?

 

Hi! Your setup is wrong. It is meant to open AWAY from the driver, opening towards the right, passenger seat, giving the driver the view of the phone. I just used it in my car now, and that is how it worked. They probably put the hinge on the wrong side.

 

according to MB HK the flap only opens to the right no matter what drive the car is.
