Had the opportunity to borrow an S-class this weekend. Nothing special as for the engine, but in Europe, a 320 CDI is yet costly enough

Shot some pics, and wanted to share them with you guys

I was amazed by the detail of everything. What struck me most was the comand dial in the centre console that locks up every time you end a menu. They actually put some motor in there, instead of making the menus so that you can keep on scrolling... unbelievable...

Apart from that, the rear view camera with added parking guides is nice, as are the automatic sunscreens.
7G tronic is definately better than before, although the touchshift is still worthless...

All I can say is that is an engineering marvel, when I test drove the car when it was first released I was in shock on how well the car was designed.

I loved the smart idrive controller.

I wonder what O/S is being used for the command and the LCD speedometer . I wish there are some tools/DEV kit so you can customize or program your own options for the command.

lol, thanks for the kind comments

MercedesFTW, the S-class was borrowed from Mercedes Belgium as a demo towards eventual leasing in a major company. I don't have anything to do with it, just had the opportunity to testdrive it, and really liked it.

Too bad I didn't had the chance to drive it at night, the S-class seems to have some nice features qua lighting...
