S class convert?

Anyone see the blurb in the new autoweek about a new S class hardtop convert? The pic is a pshop but that would be a sweet option for people like me that want a convert and a nice sedan. An S65 convert might be my new ride if it ever comes out!

I heard the same, I believe it would be very difficult to design a proper hard-top convertible for the S-Class, it would most likely weight a lot. I do not believe that this is a very positive concept, just my opinion though.

I can see a soft top S600 trying to compete for the wallets of the customers who buy the Bentley GTCs, and whatever the Rolls convertable is.

Wow, i actually saw a topless 07 S Class in the drive way to the Montage resort here in Orange County a few weeks ago, a few people were taking pictures of it against the shore, i just figured it was a customization job

There was no sign of a roof so it must have been a tuck away

The car looked like it was cut out of a single piece of ivory, i also don;t recall seeing any door handles and it looked like it had 10-15 spoke 20" alloy wheels, but it also had screens in the back of the headrests other than that it looked like a Mercedes through and a through, wish i had had my camera with me at the time . . .

*UPDATE*

After reading this post i googled the S Ocean Drive and found concept art of EXACTLY what i saw in the driveway that day, it looked just like the concept art on this page, same color and wheels and all

What you must have seen is the actual test drive that one of the major US car mags has in their current issue as we speak, although the test would have had to happen a bit earlier than a few weeks ago in order to hit the print. However, in all likelihood you did see the actual concept that I also got to see at the Detroit Auto Show.
