Any recent info on possibility of S450 for US please?

For those in the know, any recent news on this elusive model please? I already searched the forums; no one seemed to know for sure. Someone somewhere did mention October as the possible introduction date.

Thanks and regards,
Can

S450 info

I would not be suprised if it's another year before we see the S450. Everything I have seen from the factory indicates nothing in 2007 for now. If I can help you with a S550 please let me know.

Thank you,

Thank you. That's too bad. My budget is 80k at most. My wife doesn't need 380 hp. I was hoping MB would release this perfect alternative to the Lexus LS 460L.

The LS 460L has 380 horsepower, too, albeit with slightly less torque. However, it has better fuel economy than the S550, with 19/27 mpg, compared to 16/24 mpg (which means no gas guzzler tax). Given your budget ceiling, I think you'd probably be pretty happy with a 460L, which starts at $71k. M-B won't bring the S450 until demand for the 550 softens some more, which could turn sour on them very quickly as people like you start to consider the alternatives, and with its new engine, the LS 460 is a really S550 competitor, despite the lower displacement. Good luck with whatever you choose.
