You can get OEM mats from your MB dealer for the S550. They're good but McNeil mats will probably hold more dirt and snow. I put them in my SL550 for rainy days more than snow days. They come in three colors. The OEM mats really don't have any water channels to hold melted snow but will do an adequate job if you want OEMs.

The best Winter car cover I've found is sold by California Car Cover Co. It's super light weight, absolutely waterproof and keeps dirt and sap and other debris off your car. What's nice is that any snow that accumulates on the car will slide right off using one of those lightweight rectangular poly-foam brooms car dealers use in the Winter to clear snow off their cars left outside (or a regular push broom if you're very careful!). Those brooms are only $20-25. The cover is around $250 or so. I've had probably a dozen or so of these covers over the years for various cars and they're excellent! But they will NOT protect your car from falling branches or such because they are so lightweight and don't have any padding. The best way to describe them is they're kinda like parachute material. Check out California Car Cover Cos. web site or call them for info. I believe they refer to that cover as their STORMWEAVE cover. I'll be ordering a cover Wedneday for my new 07 S550 Im picking up tomorrow. Hope I helped you. Magwheel

Magwheel Thanks for the detailed response!

I will check out California Cover. I just need the cover for the car once it is in the garage, believe it or not I still cover the cars when they are indoors. As for the mats I will check out McNeils...

Thanks again, and good luck with your S550, I love mine!
