S450

It it true there will be no S450? Only the 600 and 550.

Do a search. At this point, its still too early to tell. Yet conventional wisdom tells me there will be a S450.

Yeah I'd have to say that a S450 will come along for the 2008 model year. Mercedes wanted to see where the LS460/L would price out at, now they can tailor the S450 to be more competitive. As stunning as the new S is they can't keep the price of entry at 87K forever. They're going to need the S450's projected 75-77K price point sooner or later. This time around though the LS460L (in this case) won't be much cheaper depending on equipment.

I bet that during one of the last auto shows, say like New York in April we'll get something on the S450.

I would almost bet my whole bank account that we will see the 450 soon enough in the USA....

In Europe the S450 (as well as S 320 and S 420 diesel) can already be ordered.

I guess that given enough demand the 450 should make it to the US as well.

On the online user manual on the australian site (www.mercedes.com.au), if you read the technical spec pages it lists a 450 V8 motor with 250kW....so it should be coming soon!
