High Speed Shudder- S550 on 20" w A/S
Hello Guys,
I am getting a shudder at around 80-90mph... Either balancing or a Mich Pilot A/S issue??? Any ideas. As we all know an S glides on air even at 120 mph.
I am taking it to my dealer on Monday to check it out.

Have them balanced on a Hunter Road Force balance machine.
That method will simulate the loading force that your tires have when weight is applied rather than free wheeling on a non road force type machine.

Apparantly what can happen if you have just put new wheels on the car is that it's very easy with the Mb stud pattern to fit the wheels slightly off and get a vibration, also I don't know how heavy the 221 is but I know my 140 is prone to flat spotting on the tyres if it sits for a while.

the pilot sport A/S has had issues with balancing and MB will not warranty any suspension/alignment work with this on your car.
Anyway go to a tireshop that has a Hunter road force machine. Have them remove all the tires, measure the runout on all of your wheels and match the lowest point of the wheel with the highest point of the tire (the red dot on the tire). Once they do this they should mount it and road force balance, voila u should have super smooth ride after that.

It does a barely perceivable wobble at the wheel at low speeds... but at 80mph it is pretty rude. MB says they will take care of it...
