Installing Satellite
I'm considering putting xm satellite into my s550. Ideally, I would like to put the antennae on the dash in front of the steering wheel, close to the windshield. Anyone have any experience with this? Does the windshield have any metal in it that would obstruct signals? Sirius satellite is not yet an option in Canada, and since I therefore need to basically start from scratch, I'm looking for the best and cleanest way to do the install. Any advice would be appreciated. Happy holidays to everyone!!

doesnt the s550 have a dealer option of a satellite radio? correct me if i am wrong

Check with MbenzNL.com They may be able to get you a factory Sirius receiver for your car. Connected through the MOST bus you will get cleaner sound than any add-on receiver, XM or Sirius. You also get steering wheel controls and display on the head unit and the instrument cluster.

I have the xm commander in my s550, the unit is in the eyeglass holder and they just popped off the sirius antenna and installed the xm antenna, reception is outstanding and the antenna from the xm commander is very small>>>>.hope this helps
