I personally think Merc needs this model to show the cabriolet lineup who's boss. There's nothing that fits into this segment right now. The SL's a 2-door sporty roadster that will always retain its loyal followers and the lower-end 4-door cabrios don't even qualify here. In sum, I think it will be a winner. I'm happy to see Merc finally taking steps to break into a whole new world of style and individuality which it was sorely lacking in for many years.

I like the SL a lot since it is the flagship conv.....(even if it is apples and oranges to cpmpare the two).....if this comes out IT will be the flagship. I guess a 2 door CL conve would take too many customers from the SL...a 4door conv is cool I guess but not that cool....still I dont hate it since it isnt just a S with a rag top.
