Headlights don't automatically turn off?

Just got a new S550 (my first Benz)

Just one question about the headlights.

I noticed that in the on position (knob turned all the way clockwise), the lights did not turn off after turning off the car and locking the doors. Is this normal or is there is setting to have the lights automatically turn off even if I leave the switch in the on position?

they only turn off in the auto setting, you can set how long you want them to stay on in through the settings in the cluster, and pics please!

For me, it's automatic when the knob is at 0 and A.

Also if it is not automatic on "0", depending where you are, you should be able to set it automatic from the instrument cluster menu.

In the instrument cluster, you can set the lights to "constant" or "manual". It's under "settings" and then "lighting". Not sure why they didnt include the "auto off" when in the "on" position, but it does beep at you once you open the driver door. Plus, the fog lights do not come on in the "automatic" mode (if you want them on you have to turn the knob and pull it out, pull it out a second time and that activates the rear fog lamp).

Correct of course, "constant" to me is automatic as day-time lights are mandatory at my place, that is why I used "automatic" in my post. This was confusing as MB has all the modes automatic, constant and manual. Constant sounds like the problem in the original post, lights always on even if the engine is not running, but MB does not mean that with "constant". Thanks for spotting my mistake.
