Heating on S550

If I set the heating temperature to 70 degrees, I don't get any warm air; at 75 degrees I don't get much different; and at 80 degrees, I finally get hot air (but the fan speed is now at its highest).

On my '02 S500, however, I get pretty warm air with the thermostat just set on 70 degrees.

When I complained about the heater to the MB dealer, they said that it would be a "complicated adjustment with the computer" to try to adjust the thermostat and they "didn't want to touch it". Their advice was to just set the thermostat to 75-77 degrees if I want heat, and to leave it alone. BTW, no problems with respect to the A/C.

Does anyone have any advice/similar experiences? Thank you for your help in advance.

I recently noticed the same thing, especially my wife who is always cold. I went into the controls and adjusted the air flow to only be from the lower vents. This seems to help. It is a bit of a bother when left on automatic to have what seems like cool air come from the center vents. Anxious to hear from other owners.

Actually, I just asked my wife and we haven't even noticed the heating on our car, it's worked so well. I did put the footwell warmth as +1 the first day.

I'll try to pay more attention to the actual temperature of the air coming out of the vents tomorrow. I drove the 124 today.

I keep mine at 72 both set on auto works fine and i would bring it to another dealer who is willing to repair it for you, in my opinion that is not the answer to give on a 100,000 dollar car........
