How do i reset Tire Pressure Monitors?
just got new S65 rims and tires....looks like the original balancing weights are still on, so im assuming(maybe incorrectly) the TPM's are still inside the tires. Does anyone know how to check without removing the tire from the rim, or using an xray machine?
Im getting an error message saying no TPM's are connected.

TPMS valve stems are all metal and attached to the wheel with a nut. If you see rubber where the stem comes through the tire, it's not TPMS.

But if the system cannot recognize the sensors, they cannot be present (or are dead)?

On my 220, you can reset the TPMS system by pressing the R button when the display shows that the sensors are not linked. Try that, or see if your manual has a different procedure.

Edited: from the EPC I find the W221 having a very similar setup as the Beru, the valves are definitely a separate part, the sensor attached to the valve with a screw. It is possible to install only valves (a different issue if it makes sense).

The manual? :-)
On a W221, you have to work through the instrument cluster, service menu. The first section attached.
Seems different from the Beru system as the manual claims that you have to have the car 20 minutes parked after wheel rotation or sensor change, before a reattempt to reactivate it.
Could it be that someone has installed the Beru sensors on a Siemens system car, of vice versa?

Thanks for pointing out the W221 equivalent to the reset button. As I said earlier I had no idea what it was.

im happy to see some possibly useful information. I hope i have explained what im up against.....if i have to remove my old sensors from the 19" wheels i removed and are sitting in my garage, that would mean i would have to unmount 8 tires from their rims, remove the 19" sensors and place them on the 20" S65 wheels, then remount the tires to the wheels, then rebalance each tire which wont be as good as the factory balancing, and then done. A huge hassle.

ps......i looked at the valve stems in the 20's and they look the same as the ones on the tires i just took off. If anything, they look a slightly different color....the 20's have a "gold" color whereas the ones i took off looked more "metallic". So i think the TPMS are in the 20's. I just need to get the car to reconize them.

yea i think i tried that. By the way, does anyone remember what other member here put the S65 wheels and tires and then lowered his car? I think it was a dark blue car and he is even from my neck of the woods in Miami. Id like to ask him but i cant remember his screename? Thx in advance.
