Park-assist calculates parking space??
I read in that MB magazine they send out that cars with Distronic plus will be able to calculate if the parking spot is large enough.
Apparently, when you drive by a parking spot slowly and attempt to park there by slowing down even more, a blue P will light up in the instrument LCD, indicating that the spot is big enough. (I think it might only work with parallel parking).
Can anyone confirm this? sounds like an innovative feature.

Havent heard anything about this.. I cant see how it would work though since the Distronic Plus sensor is on the FRONT.. which wouldnt help while looking for a place to parallel park...

The system probably uses the rear radar and camera systems. Currently, when you put the car in reverse, the rear camera turns on and on the COMAND screen, there are guidelines of where the car will go. I'm assuming this will take it a step further.

It does use radar sensors, they do not look only forward (Distronic+ with Parktronic+)
