JD Power IQS - Mercedes 5th Overall
Mercedes-Benz jumped from 25th (2006) to 5th (2007) overall in the recently released JDP IQS survey!! Of note, the all-new S, and facelifted E and SL-Class models garnered best in class awards. The S-Class had the fewest problems in the industry at 72 problems per 100 cars.

Where oh where is the all-perfect Lexus LS460L? For a brand new Mercedes to be this trouble free is epic, but it also underlines the vast difference between the German built models and the GL/ML/R. Though those Bama built models didn't drag down the results this year, with the M-Class improving. Shocking results. I still can't believe the Lexus LS didn't get the #1 spot, to lose to a brand new MB and an Audi of all things!!!! Utterly stunning.

I was just browsing biz.yahoo.com and according to them, the new Mercedes S-class and Audi A8 both tied for first in their segment in 2007 in J.D. Power & Associates 2007 quality rankings. I was really surprised, they were actually ranked higher than Lexus LS460... check it out, its on the front page of yahoo right now "Ford tops Toyota in initial quality rankings" story.
