parktronic issue.

when i drove the car this morning i noticed something wierd - whenever I come to a stop or slow down (stop sign, traffic light, etc.) and the parktronic automatically activates once you hit "parking lot speeds" my front left side automatically goes into the red and beeps for like 3-5 seconds and then dissapears. Even sitting still, at a red light, it was going crazy - I had to turn off Parktronic.

I've started and restarted the car a few times and the problem still persists. I haven't hit the car or damaged it - anybody know what the problem could be before I call up the dealership and make an appointment?

I had this exact same problem on a C209 CLK 320 i had. Stop at light, parktronic activates for few secs, goes to red and beeps then disappears!

Problem was front licence plate. The edge of the plate holder was just in range of the sensor. Dealer ordered a new licence plate holder that had curved backing so it fitted flush with the bumper.

Never had the same problem again

I believe also if u go to the TSB sticky there is TSB for this issue in the s-class forum.

Hope this helps.
