Something on 4 wheels..
I don't know for sure it this also applies to the S-Class, but everybody who's interested in the designo Mocha Black:
For MY 2008, the interior leather has changed back to Sand (at least on the CL).

My guess would be just on the CL-Class because the Cognac on the CL which is a standard interior choice, looks almost identical to the designo Espresso.

Congrats, its sounds beautiful. This interior you picked out is exactly what the designo Mystic White Edition is in the US. In the US we only get "editions" that MBUSA has put together, we can't customize them. For the S-Class there are three: Espresso, Mystic White, and Graphite.

I thought you might enjoy the pages covering S Class Designo in Canada form the Design Consumer booklet. There has been a lot of discussion on this topic and a peak over the wall (or maybe thru the forest is a better analogy) at the details of the Canadian Program might be fun. Enjoy.

Hi there; I too am in Canada and you see very few Designo cars. I happen to have a mocha black and don't really love it. It looks more dark brown than black. So you may prefer the basic obsidian black.
The alacantra is a great choice and I'm surprised the dealer doesn't fill you in on the specifics of exactly what they provide.
I too love the alacantra and decided on an S 600 instead of the 550 for that very reason.

P.S. when you eventually go to sell the car, no one cares about "designo" and therefore you won't get your increased dollar value.
Oh well, you still get what you want in ordering it.

I had ordered an S63 with the designo Armagnac interior last month. The saleperson just confirmed with me yesterday, and told me that I will not get the "bump" (like the one that shown on the catalogo) on the door. That pattern of on the door and sit are exclusive for S600/S65 and regardless of Designo or not. Verify this with your saleperson.
The left picture below is the picture I took at the dealer. It is a S63 with designo Pastel Yellow. And the picture on the right is a 600 with standard grey color interior.
