Performance Upgrades for the S550?
Has anyone tried one of these software companies? I know RENNtech is accepted by my dealer, anyone have this, or know of any other options?
I hope I don't get flamed for this, but I'm sorry to say that I think my 550 is slow now, maybe I'm just used to it, but I wish it had a little more spunk.
No flames please...

RENNTech is actually currently selling a 2007 S550 that they did up. They said it has 410hp and 450ft-lbs torque. Here's the specs:
RENNtech project car built from a fully-loaded '07 model. Car features full bodykit, ECU upgrade, stainless steel headers, lowering module, RENNtech brake upgrades, and RENNtech exhaust tips.
RENNtech's tuning package for the 550 engine focused on boosting torque, and this car flies with mid-to-high 4 second 0-60 times.
110,000 USD
I would say its a real steal considering the cost of the parts normally. If you can't afford to sell yours though and get that one, then what they did is a few options to give your car a little more power. Here's a picture of it.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Between shorty headers, software and air filters - there is about 35-40HP. Factory exhaust is very good and does not restrict power like it used to in old days.
As far as forced induction - Kleemann is really the only option at this time. Expensive, but you will get 100HP/100TQ.
what are the prices for these Software upgrades and who does the programming for you?
also are these air filters really beneficial? Price on the headers would be great as well. Is there anywhere that I can look to get more information on these items?
Also my S550, is a lease, would I face any issues when my lease is over?
thank you in advance

Prob w/more power in a 550 is that its brakes/chassis/steering are only calibrated for a sedate <400hp family sedan....so extra power would be fairly silly....
Still laugh every time I see those non-AMG brakes/calipers.....those 550/600 calipers are almost identical to those of a 10yo C-Class.....would be ROTFL if saw/heard an S550 w/a loud exhaust and big wheels (and tints of course).....and those girlie brakes, completing the rapper-wannabe look

Just get a new 600/63/65.....you only live once....
