S600 is indeed the best choice. S63/S65 AMG kit costed me around ~$10K - everything parts, painting, installation. You can get further insights at www.mercedes-amg.com (Sportswear for S Class). I still have my S600 original bumpers and exhaust systems and I plan to keep them. You can check out my S600 at my website http://www.shuja.info/id43.html.

Thanks!!

Scriber I bought both my S classes sight unseen. It's exciting to search out the best deal and take the leap. So far so good. Try Traderonline.com. You can even set up an auto notification if your vehicle comes available/ listed. Also Ebay. Just make sure whoever selling has a strong feedback and feel out the dealer through conversations. You can learn a lot through that. If your still unsure but want to bid call a local shop and pay them to go inspect the car for you. Many independents will do this for a nominal negotiated fee. Could be well spent. I bought my 03 S500 sport one year old with 8000 miles and saved $30k (autotrader). When I flew 600 miles to pick it up it was perfect/new (one owner). The ebay purchase was shipped to me 07 S600 from across the country-new condition except a few stone chips 13k miles and saved $45k. The thing about the 600 is you will always be impressed with its performance. The s550 is impressive but the 600 is incredible. Life is short. You need this car. You might even get some good finds on an 08 600 now. For me its as fun shoping for it as talking about it

Hi guys,
I've decided to search for a CPO 07 S600 or a very low mileage non CPO vehicle that is close to me(That way, I can test drive it and bring it to a mechanic). There is a CPO with 18k miles near me but I believe it is a fairly early build as it has the hump on the trunk. The ones that are available currently with very low mileage(2.5k and 8k) would require air travel and possibly an overnight stay which can get quite expensive.
I don't like the 3rd party inspector services as they really provide very little value as they seem to only report on obvious defects like scratches, overspray etc. Most of them say that you should still bring the car to a mechanic for inspection and that they aren't responsible for hidden damage?

Reasons why I chose the s600:
I agree that the power of the V12 would keep me interested in the car far longer than the V8.
The interior; I never realized how cheap the 600 interior made the 550 interior look.
Rear massaging seats.
Depreciation Value of the 600.

The waiting and searching is unbearable sometimes.

Hello Vonbeeler,

Thanks for the note. The sound is just like standard S63. Difference is not much noticeable.

Thanks!!
