Press and Hold
Press and Hold
With my cell phone handset (Motorola), I have my voicemail set up in such a way that if I press and hold "1" for about 1 second, it automatically dials my voicemail service.
Does anyone know if there is an adjustment to the comand system that will allow the car's phone keypad to allow the keypad buttons to hold a tone for as long as you are pressing down on the key? I'm unable to use speed dial because of this.
I have to detach my phone out of the cradle and use the phone itself to do this and it is a little aggravating.
The only work-around is to program my voicemail number into the voice comand system and speak the number to dial. I may just have to do that if there is no other way.
Also, have you folks noticed how delayed the button presses are? You can press down on a key and sometimes it seems the phone system doesn't recognize it for a full second making you press it erroneously a second time

I almost never make out-bound calls while driving; and will only occasionally accept incoming calls, but did explore various S/CL Bluetooth funcs when first got S550 2+ yrs ago...
IIRC, couple choices to deal w/speed-dial vs Bluetooth....can program into voice commands and/or if phone in pocket (have never placed ph in a cradle; prefer phone in pocket if need to emergently exit car post-collision, etc) can flip it open (assuming KRZR) to use its speed-dial as it works through car's Btooth/spkrphone
