well I finally got rid of my E500 and am ready to step into a S550. There are two 07's in my area that interest me but I haven't seen them in person yet. Both have around 16k miles. Just wondering if there is anything in particular I should look for when I visit the dealerships. Are there any known issues? What options are a must-have (and which options affect price considerably)?

Also, does anyone have some outdoors pics of an andorite grey w221? I was searching some old threads for pics, but all the links are broken

Nevada Jack posted quite a few Andorite grey S550 photos when he was considering to buy one. If you cannot find photos, I could post more of these (by email).

I cannot post photos of my own car, would have to wash it first and that would not happen any time soon.

If you're looking to buy an 07 model, be sure to get one of the latter 07 models....seems that those which were built around sept. 06 and later were void of slight aggravating glitches. One visible sign to look for is to not to buy one that has the little antenna on the trunk lid. That seems to be the cut-off line between the good 07's and the bad 07's. I can't remember exactly what the problems were, but it seems the earlier 07s had software glitches, all of which can be quickly fixed, but just to give you headsup. I know that my Oct. 06 build was a good one.

You need a recent copy of the Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI). You can get it from any Mercedes dealerships. If buying from a private party, you can call a Mercedes dealership and give them the VIN and have the VMI printed out.

If you are buying a car that was only a year or less on the road, then there is no big difference between the certified one and a non-certified.
