Rear View Camera
Anyone have any details on how easy it may be to retrofit the OEM reversing camera on a W221/W216?
I think my W216 is the later model and is fully loaded (excl Keyless Go and Camera) MB appear to have changed the camera setup. Earlier cars appear to have had a seperate modulator and camera and later cars have a camera without the modulator.??
Would i need ECU's etc or is there a way to just retrofit the camera on its own with a wiring harness.
Any help would be appreciated

Try contacting these guys - www.midcityengineering.com.
I believe they have a solution.

08 w221/w216 are SCN coded so theres no easy way to change the camera setting. There are aftermarket solutions to program the camera though. The 08 models dont need the park assist module either, just an aftermarket camera.

I have seen your post on the retrofit. Could you provide a bit more detail on how you achieved this. i.e What parts did you need to buy and how it was all put together and programmed etc?
Many thanks in advance.
I have also put an enquiry into midcity for a solution as I was very impressed with their VIM221 Video in motion module.
