How do you remove amber side markers from bumper?

I have done this a 100 times on all other Mercedes, i just wanna remove my amber side marker to have it painted, but i can't seem to get it off. Its like it is attached to my bumper. Or is it? Has anyone taken theirs out to get painted body color? The owners manuals usually even say how to do it, but i checked and it says have it done my an authorized Mercedes Dealer! My car has the AMG body kit if it matters...

I've been thinking about this too -- making the amber side markers white or even tinting them to black would make the car MUCH cleaner (euro style).

Turn the wheel all the way left if you're working in the passenger side. And vice versa. You'll see 2 black push pin like screws. Remove them and pull the fender linner out. Then reach behind the bumper where the side markers location is. Theres a plastic tab/lock,push it in and that should losen the side marker. That's the best I can describe it. Hope that help.
