***** FRAUD ALERT *****

Here are my wheels that I posted for sale on this forum and on the wheels & tires forum:

https://mbworld.org/forums/wheels-tires/242812-sale-brand-new-19-amg-wheels-tires.html

Here are the thief's .... who obviously came here and stole my picture.... together with my garage flooring and baby diaper trash can on the right hand side!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...248127656&rd=1

Un-freaking-believable!

Looks like some SCUM BAG called "tedwood0878" has stolen my pictures and posted a sale on ebay!! ....I wish I could lay my hands (or fists) on this absolute douche bag!

"theboogers" who posts on here alerted me.... Or maybe he is the guy who did it

Man - it's like there are con artists and thieves at every corner.....

I mean HOW can this crap actually happen? How can people rip people off so easily right on ebay. There's even a "winning bidder"! Gulp! Wonder where he'll get his wheels from.

On another note, some idiot by the name of "Allen Davis" from Myrtle Beach, SC with a Russian/Iranian accent has been trying for the last 2 weeks to get me to sell him my wheels by........ mailing them COD! He's then supposed to give the UPS delivery guy a cashier's check! Yeah right.

I wonder if this is all related

This is really unfortunate but not unusual. We need to be really careful out there and watch-out for such scams. Thanks for sharing!!

Dude, get involved and report this through eBay. It may help deter scams in the future like this. A lot of this is going on, desperate times bring the crooks out.

If you do not report it, I will. Item number: 260248127656.

What Ben said. Have you reported it yet? There were 23 bids on it [about half are fake just to bump up the price for the next bidder]. The auction ended two days ago. I'd contact the winner and see if he's realized anything fishy yet and notify him immediately of the scam he was just involved in.

I TRIED - could not figure out how to contact the winning bidder. Of course, I didn't spend a whole lot of time because
1) I was really tikked off
2) been really busy + this was late last night.

The thing is in order to know you are in a scam you have to actually start to think like a con artist - they are so smooth - they reel you in and then at the very last minute (like this Allen Davis with an Iranian accent) turn the tables on you. This son of a gun even told me that his car is at Fowler Motors in Myrtle Beach (where I'm supposed to do this $3000 C.O.D) and to this day, I could not get anyone from that dealership to call me back.

Looks like another low life weasel (or the same one) has stolen my pic and is trying to scam on the SF/Bay area craigslist.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/713611698.html

Didn't know that one innocuous ad by me would result in a bunch of circling vultures....

A sign of the times...

Sigh.

Amazing, isn't it?

Just goes to show to what lengths crooks will go .....

The odd thing is that the ONLY way I found out about the ebay and craigslist scammers was by 2 different guys emailing me about them, of course both posing as buyers..... And as you might have guessed, neither one of them has shown interest past the initial 1-2 emails they sent me...

It's all very very interesting....

Offer to buy them from him to obtain his name and address.
This is very common and happens everyday. Ebay is taking slow steps to fix this but now they will be make a seller go through a security process before they can sell anything. This should help a little but the bad guys will be a step ahead and ready anyway.

Don't know if you've read this yet, but it relates very closely to your situation. It's a good read if you have the time.

Holy Cow!

That dragged on for 13 pages or so.

Sad, really sad that such low life's are amongst us.

Maybe we need to have stricter registration processes.

So much for ebay giving a sh*t about reporting the fraud! As of today, 6/15/2008 the ad it still there (although bidding has ended)!

It's like these credit card companies sending you preapproved credit apps. in the mail even though it's been well documented that a huge proportion of cc theft and ID fraud it committed using them.........

It's almost like these companies WANT the fraud to happen. I really do believe that.

I have.

They simply don't care.

I guess that's understandable ....considering that they make $$$ from scams too.

Sad but true..... and the reason why this is probably the last time I EVER sell anything on eBay.

Wow, if that's the case, then I would never think of buying stuff from Ebay or any internet website if they let scammers use their site to sell their products. Then again it comes down to that you just have to be cautious on buying products online.
