What would be a fair price for a 2008 S550 with 3000 demo miles on it?

...if I could alternatively buy the same configuration for $87k, brand new?

75k? 80k? Thoughts, anyone?

Thanks.

I'd offer no more than $70k.

P.S. The $87k for the new car is way under MSRP, and in fact is about equal to invoice price, adjusted for current factory incentives (i.e., the dealer on that one would be making only the holdback on the car).

Ah, that changes things. I thought 87k meant it was a bare bones S550. Even so, 3,000miles is a lot for a demo. It makes it a second hand car so make sure you tell them that. I'd still be resistant to paying anywhere near to 87k for this particular car.

I'd go for the new one at $87k unless they would accept about $77k tops for
the 3k mile car assuming both have same options. Both deals would be fair.
