From what I know, the exterior is pretty much identical. I do know that the S600s had some interior changes like stitching accents and alcantara headliner folds place in the center of the ceiling of the car. I'm not sure if the S550s had this or not. Secondly, the video feature was added to the comand system on the 08s on all S classes. Also, the headlight washer button was only seen on the 07s and removed thereafter. (I take it the 08s and 09s do not have headlight washers???? Am I correct on this?).

The 08 models also have a stealth radar feature to jam radar gun activity!!!

The 08's and 09's do have the washers. I think they go off on the 10th squirt of the windshield washers.

True, I guess this is for drivers who do not know how to use the headlight washers. I find this new one a safety issue, we may have a lot of dirt and flush hitting the lights and the windshield at winter, you get really badly blinded for some time already from washing the lights, not to mention if you do both at the same time.

I've heard Volvo doing the headlights washing one after the other which is so simple but so smart when you want to avoid getting blind from losing headlights for a second.

Distronic plus was cheaper on 08 models, park assist was added to distronic plus along with blind spot assist (mentioned above)

Second grocery bag hook and umbrella holder were dropped.

On the 600, other than the alcantara stitching, the exhaust finishers were changed to a very odd shape

I think having to wash the windshield for 10 consecutive times in order for the headlights to get washed would annoy me. Not only does it waste time but it wastes washer fluid too.

From the outside, the S550s remain pretty much the same. On the inside there isn't changed either from a glance, except the most notable might be the headlight switch no longer has the headlight washer button as mentioned earlier.

On the S600 there is the new leather stitching design. Instead of the straight flat with a line of stitching on the doors, it's kind of piped vertically and goes down about as far as the bottom of door handles only. The same pattern goes up to the headliner as mentioned before. The exhaust tip design is really funky now as mentioned before. In the front bumper, that thing going across is chrome now too instead of color coded.

You mean the 08 s550 comes with distronic standard? If they did how comes mines not working?
I never knew that my e63 had distronic until i was cruising on the highway and came slowing down by itself when i came real close to another car. I was like holly****. But it kinda sucks that my new s550 doesnt have it.

I thought he meant "distronic comes with blind spot and parking assist" while previously distronic came with distronic only.

It is easy to see if the car has distronic, from the plastic part at the grill. On a W221 you would notice it from the missing parktronic sensors (not absolutely accurate though, some markets have parktronic an option, the car could be without distronic and without parktronic).
