Does anybody know how to disassemble the center console?

Hi guys! I'm the proud new owner of a slightly used 2007 S550.

How can I take apart the center console? I'd like to get access to the buttons in front of the aluminum command control knob to do some cleaning. The previous owner must have spilled some soda and the buttons are a bit sticky.

So far I've managed to take out the cup holder assembly, but I don't see attachment points or screws for the console from the front.

I can't find any exposed or hidden screws on the console itself. I did notice in the deep lower storage compartment there may be an opening in the felt. On the front side there is a rectangular seam in the felt around the air flow control wheel. I don't know if this is removable.

Perhaps it's held on by clips? I'm afraid to just start prying without knowing what I am doing.

Thanks!

Uh, seriously, how mechanically inclined are you, because if you mess up that wood, it is about $1700. That would be a very expensive center console detail, but if you ship the car to me, I will do it for $1500.

It has to be broken off and then replaced.
