Roof Rack Basic Carrier and Roof Cargo Container
I ordered the roof rack for my S550 from a Mercedes dealer online, but the one I received was for an SUV. I have reordered. I would appreciate knowing if you have any experience with the rack, which attaches to the four anchor points on the roof. Also, when I found how expensive the cargo containers are, the online dealer suggested I buy a Thule from a retailer such as REI. However, Thule says it doesn't make a carrier which it recommends for the S550. This is strange, since I understand that Thule makes the carriers which Mercedes sells, for example Mercedes part # 6-6-87-0101. Comments, please.

Why drive a cheap truck when there is an option to enjoy the W221?
6 687 0101 seems a valid option for a W221. The UK accessory brochure seems to be designed just to fit to the forum pdf limits, see more options there.

Of course I'm serious. I wouldn't waste my time otherwise. Apparently Mercedes is serious too, or the anchor points wouldn't be on the S550 roof, nor the accessories offered for sale.
I don't need a cheap truck for hauling. I want to carry luggage and golf clubs along with passengers.
