The interior is to die for. Now if only it were full leather.

Thanks for posting those. Saved me a trip. But I swear I thought the leather was darker on the one I saw. Really would be nice to see a few of these made as S600s also.

If I remember correctly, it seems to be a taupish/grey color instead of the light beige that we see in the pix.

I just spoke with Bob Moody at Crown Automobile in Birmingham, AL (phone number is 205-402-2227 and he went out to the car to verify the interior color and he claims it says 'Sahara Beige" (not Oyster)which verifies that it is darker than the interior in the dick dyer car.
I'm confused now.
Regardless, the interior of the car Bob has is gorgeous.
Like I said, I may can find the time to get down to Saks Fifth Avenue and take pix of it to show the color the best I can.
If anyone wants this car, give Bob a call. They are a really good dealership.

Leather upgrade is worth it...
I agree with Asian ML that one of the options that does 'wonders' for giving you that ultra-luxurious interior (in this expensive MB) is the premium leather option that you can order on any S550 (especially noticeable in a S550 cashmere color interior). In my opinion, this is the most overlooked option, seldom ordered by dealers or special order customers. It just looks 100% better than the standard S leather and worth every penny you spend. Or step up to the S550 Designo Editions and get the unique look of an S600 and its exclusive leather quality (see photo of an '08 550 Espresso Designo and compare to the Sak's edition in this post). Or better yet, get a S600 (or CL600) and have it all - the ultra soft 'Exclusive' leather, the unique Designo craftsmanship/stitching on the seats & panels and the superb torque of a V12! Speaking from quite a bit of experience with luxury cars, I would recommend the S600 (W221) over anything out there. I have been in and out of 45 cars in the past 18 years and this is the first time that I have owned a car and never gotten tired of it. This car is just as new to me today as it was 2 years ago. I've owned a lot of cars , all of which were fine autos, and the current MB W221 is without a doubt the finest vehicle on the road , especially the S600. MB hit a home run with this car hands down.
