Auto imports stored at port
As if we didn't already know things were slow! I thought this was an interesting article from the San Diego Union about the ports turning into parking lots for Mercedes, Toyota etc:

Is this a sign of more/larger discounts to come??
Its a great time to be a buyer.

Reminds me a bit of this:

I remember my father was being given a Rover 800 as a company car about 15yrs back and the car he was after had been parked on this airfield (Rover put cars there for a long time before they went bust). They did a check and found rats had nibbled on a lot of the electrical wiring and so he was sent one new from the factory in a different colour. Never knew what happened to the fate of the midnight blue one he ordered!

Long Beach shipyard with overstock cars.
TV NBC4 in LA show a bird eye view of cars (mainly MB, Toyota, Honda, Nissan....) in Long Beach shipyard. In SoCal, cars are sold with 0% (Toyota, Honda) for peolpe with good credit score. I received a couple email/week (from the past 2 months), from local MB dealer that I had my car in for services, invite me to come & take a look of their MB cars (even with BIG MB dealer like FJ of Newport Beach). Economy is BAD..., look like people trying to pay for food & shelter (rent) rather cars (big ticket items). My cousin about to close the dry clean shop due to lack of customer (less income, same rent he had to pay). It's good for car's buyer market now.
