iPhone vs Blackberry Connectivity

Hello All,

I'm looking to get a new phone and I want to know your experience with the bluetooth connectivity in your S Class. I now have a Verizon Palm Treo 700p and the bluetooth is fine, but it doesn't upload my contacts.

Can anyone with either the iPhone or a Blackberry let me know if everything functions well in the S Class with the Bluetooth. Especially interested in the contacts.

Also, can you use the text messaging feature through the Command system with either the iPhone or Blackberry?

I have a Blackberry 9000 (Bold) with AT&T - I connect with almost no issues - have complete access to my phone book. I have no ability to send or receive text messages though the command screen.

Once out of a hundred starts the phone might have an issue connecting, but it is reliable considering how precarious bluetooth is to begin with.

I cannot attest to the iPhone, but I know they have new hardware coming out this summer, so if purchasing one of those is in your plans, wait.

Not sure if W221 Blutooth interface is the same as the W220 but my Palm Treo 755p (Sprint) uploads my phonebook without an issue...wify's Blackberry works too, she has the 8810 World Phone (Verizon), as does our daughter's Blackberry 9000 (AT&T). Only issue I've seen was with a friends iPhone version 2.0.

Hope this is of some help...

I have an iPhone and it connects the first time everytime! All contacts no problem. My wife has the Bold, no problems w/ it either.

My iPhone works perfectly with with the S600 and the Maybach. If its any concern it also works with my X5 and my TL, pretty much tells you that it works well with anything. It's also way cool that it syncs all the names onto the display in the car.

My 3G iPhone works perfectly in my S65 except for one thing - no SMS support in Comand is offered. Otherwise works great in cradle or in pocket with BT.
