The interior quality and fit is superb and the timeless exterior design always makes me turn my head. It's reasonably priced and also doesn't get a lot of unwanted attention if you want discreet luxury.
I sat in the A8 but didn't drive yet because the exterior styling doesn't give me any excitement for some reason. I know its a great car from reading.

I know what you mean. My E is perfect for me and I do love it..

I was hoping the new W212 E-Class would sweep me off my feet, but I don't like it aesthetically at all, especially compared to the M-B models that have preceded it.
I drove my second E today. Dove 06 E55 today and 07 E63 couple days ago.
From the drivers seat I would say the power feels just like the S600...maybe a little more, maybe. It feels good, is the right size, comfortable, lighter on its feet than the S. Basically as good if not a little better for driving. The only drawback is the rear seat room but that really doesn't concern me.

Agreed the new E is is nothing to be excited about at all. The interior is very nice though.

I would definitely go with the E55/E63 if I were you. I agree that the new E just leaves a lot to be desired looks-wise (IMO), but does have a solid build structure, great drive, etc.

Funny you say that... I felt the exact opposite. I think the exterior is quite nice (saw one on the freeway last week and couldn't take my eyes off it), but the interior was terrible. The plastic look of the radio controls in the center were disappointing, and I thought the thick bar pattern on the seats was cheap looking.

Just goes to show how 2 different people can view something so differently!

Yes that is amazing. Thankfully otherwise we would all be wanting the same car/girl/house. Every car would be exactly the same built to "our likes"!

I do like the front. But the back is about the most bland boring thing I've ever seen. For me the overall look just seems a bit wimpy for lack of a better word.

The S8 production was stopped recently so you can get one only from the existing inventory.
New A8 is going to be introduced this Fall and the new S8 (supposedly with V10TT ,600+hp) hopefully shortly after.

Bought 08 M3 cab with dual clutch trans.
I would have bought an E63 also but the M3 came up at a great deal so I did it. The 63's are falling pretty hard too with the new E out. Will get the M delivered next week.

I also had 10 Corvette GS on order but canceled it. I didn't realize the Ferrari 360 Spyders had depreciated so much and will trade my Corvette when I find a nice Red/tan 360 manual (not F1). No hurry though since the M3 should hold me over for at least a few months.

Will post pics soon if anyone is interested. BTW the BMW forums are weak. Barely got any response to buying questions. Ferrari forums pretty good but I think the S is the best and most active. And sometime colorful.

Congrats on M3 purchase.
In my opinion, the strongest offering from BMW.
Not only in their lineup, but general in this body size.
You WILL enjoy it

Posting pictures...what kind of question is this.
Of course post pictures!
Afterall, we're bunch of car nuts.

Congratulations on the M3! Cabrio is quite adorable and with the DCT it is a wonderful tool. What colour have you chosen? Please post pics as soon as you can!!!

The only BMW forum that makes sense and is in general very useful is 5series.net - used to be e60.net. But expect a little subjective opinions since most of the members are true E60/61/63/64 hardcore fans
I wish this forum was more alive (I'm talking especially about the "S" section) but it's understood that not every S-Class owner likes to hang out and chat about his car and it's more rare, the other thing is that it doesn't break down as often as 5 and 6-Series BMW and is quite limited to any kind of tuning (which is both a very good thing )

It brings a question which Merc forum is better? MBWorld or BenzWorld? BenzWorld has more threads on S-Class but MBWorld seems a bit more "fresh" and more people are reacting here.

Thanks for the info I will check it out. From my experience (fairly limited) this site was the first I joined and posted. Recently since I sold my car I checked out a couple other sites to gather a little info. They basically seemed dead. Very little posting. Even at the M3 section which I assumed would be busy with enthusiasts. I've been here long enough and know the members and feel comfortable just hanging here. The commentary is non judgmental (mostly lol), intelligent (mostly), quite entertaining at times, and informative. Also quite active.

I will post some pics even though this is an S thread, but OK I'm a S owner at heart just taking some time to try a few other things. The color is Space Gray Metallic with silver Novello (like MB ash) interior. The exterior and interior colors were my first choices so I was lucky to find it with DCT (seems rare/hard to find) loaded with every option avail except parking sensors. pics in a couple weeks. Thanks.

The 2007 S600 sure has "alot of bang for the buck"
I see them with 15-20k for miles in the mid to hi 60's.
