well I was thinking of debadging my car
is it wrong to debadge an ///AMG?
If I were to debadge it, I would remove the star also

but if was to keep it, I would paint them black..

what to do?

a car
If you own a real AMG, I would go flat black on all the emblems and not do a full debadge.

You Europeans are weird? Why the ***** would you debadge your car? Seriously, it's not like there are aliens waiting to abduct you and your car at the first sign of a 6 liter engine....

Ha ha, it's not that.

But tell me, what is more weird? Debadging or putting 22" aftermarket rims on a 3-Series BMW as you usually see in America?

There's nothing wrong about badging or debadging. It's quite a subjective decision.
But painting them black is nice too! Do it. It would look cool and original.

In Midtown Manhattan, many wealthy financiers choose to be driven around in base, blk/blk S550 (w/no Sport look but w/badges) and with various scuffs on bumpers and many door dings....a car difficult to distinguish from various high-end taxis in NYC

But many of these same guys who are driven in a humble, <$100K S550 in NYC and have no interest in cars are flown around in private, $50MM G550s....
I agree. It's a matter of personal preference. Someone doesn't have interest in cars but is keen e.g. on japanese gardens and vice versa.

Debadging doesn't say anything about being or not being wealthy. For majority of ordinary people, big Mercedes is just a big Mercedes. To some, even 15 years old Mercedes equals 100m2 flat in capital city equals something they cannot afford.
